Warm Thoughts has always been unique because its DNA is imprinted with an understanding of how both fuel consumers and fuel businesses think and act, and how to use that knowledge to help our clients grow. Warm Thoughts Communications emerged in 1992 from the insights that founder Rich Goldberg gained while building the largest fuel buying group in the country at the time. Starting with $2,000 he borrowed from his dad, Rich built a buying group that grew to over 14,000 fuel customers and 32 fuel suppliers in just seven years. He learned a great deal about why customers choose to stay with or leave their suppliers, and what makes fuel companies great or vulnerable. In 1994, he sold the group to focus exclusively on building a national marketing firm dedicated to residential energy and HVAC service suppliers.
Over the years, Warm Thoughts has worked with companies in 34 states. Its client roster has included 14 of the top 20 largest heating oil companies, 11 of the 25 largest propane companies, and 5 residential HVAC “contractors of the year.” They have helped utility companies rebrand, launched an energy efficiency company for a Fortune 1,000 company, worked with numerous heating oil and propane associations, and provided valuable support for companies looking to market services to these companies.
